After waking up in the desert, we are in a hurry to get out of it and find the path to Tunis.

After all the disappointing things happened to us, we turned towards South to explore the desert at least. We have spent a splendid night there in-between the dunes...

All teams are awake at 9am in Hotel Rahma. Everybody is excited to go to Libya. If we get the visas. We have to hurry up as it’s already Thursday and Friday the islamic countries are not working. Therefore if we can’t arrange it today we can’t go there tomorrow. So we are making several phone calls, and sending emails to find out what are the necessary requirements for the Libyan visa. We get some information: we can enter if our Ministry of Foreign Affairs is letting us go.

After waking up we decide not to go and waste our time at the Consulate anymore. We call them at 10 to find out if there is a development with our case. The lady requests a call back in 30 mins to be able to speak with her colleagues in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We call her later as agreed but the only thing she can say is that the Ministry has received our papers, and our application is under process. As long as the Consulate doesn’t receive the positive or negative sign from the Ministry, they can not say anything. They should have mentioned it before.

Early morning we restart everything at the Consulate at 9. Well it’s very difficult to explain what is happening. We enter the waiting room that is paved full of marbles and sit on the chairs.

We wait and wait.

A new day has come and now we feel ready to deal with the visa issues. As the organizers don’t speak French they take Balazs to do so. Armin joins them not to leave alone his friend. Therefore we have a quick breakfast in the hotel and we leave very early in the morning. We would be the firsts at 9am when the Consulate of People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria opens the gate.

We wake up at 7:25 for a breakfast. The morning breeze from the sea gives us the freshness. Of course, we are the only one having breakfast in spite of the agreement. All the others are sleeping. Later on Magnum team joins us. It’s funny how the cook reduces the size of the “omlette”. For the first order it was a king size portion, but the last arrival gets only a baby size.

The bells of the neighboring church are ringing enormously loud at 7am. No need to say we are awake like a smashed potato. We get a quick shower and have a rich breakfast.

We realise what to makes to have a plan, and how the things are arranging themself.

After several weeks of organization and preparation the long awaited day had come. Both of us are so excited to leave Sarajevo behind us. We had so much stress and frustration during the past few days to arrange everything. We still have no visa for Algeria but we’ve decided to be optimistic and get it along the way in Tunis.
